Wedding Invitation Design Custom

I wanted to share a custom wedding invitation I did for a wedding in Hudson New York. In addition to designing the wedding invitation I also designed coordinating fan programs, dinner menus, table numbers and place cards. The brides colors were blue and red and we came up with this fun theme incorporating her red dahlia wedding flowers and blue pinstripes. I hand drew the dahlia's to give them a more organic feel.

Get Married is a brand new magazine for brides. It is scheduled to publish it's first issue in October. Get Married magazine extends the brand of it's Get Married’s Lifetime Television and GetMarried.com. Former skirt! magazine editor Stephanie Davis, has also written for GQ, Self, Brides and Gourmet, is the executive editor. I am looking forward to checking out this new publication.

I just read on Twitter (a post by the people from Barney's) that Mrs. Strong, the Upper East side stationer of ultimate luxury is closing it's doors. I am actually kind of shocked. Yes, the stationery is extremely expensive. Try $120 for a box of 10 cards, but it is also an Upper East side establishment. Trying times indeed.

David Stark DIFFA Dining By Design

Here are some photos of David Stark's table at the DIFFA Dining By Design last weekend. DIFFA Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS does this fundraiser every year where they invite event designers and interior designers to decorate tables and serve dinner. They do the event in several cities including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. I love the paint by numbers theme and the summer camp like setting of David Stark's room.

I had the pleasure of attending the Design on a Dime Benefit last week. The event featured 50 room "vignettes" decorated by interior designers. New and vintage furniture and hosewares from the vingettes was sold at 60-80% off. And all of the proceeds went to Housing Works' facility the Stand Up Harlem House.
